Evangelism and Apologetics in the New Testament
Over the years a variety of models of evangelism and popular books have been recommended and taught within the Church. Many Christians, for example, are familiar with the Four Spiritual Laws approach, the friendship evangelism model, the Way of the Master, or the Evangelism Explosion model of evangelism. There have also been numerous books also written on the subject of evangelism. This talk will offer a brief critique of some of these models and books and then proceed to delve into the model of evangelism adopted by those in the New Testament; a model in which Apologetics serves as the handmaiden to evangelism. From here we will investigate whether this methodology is appropriate for the age in which the Church now finds itself.
Faith, Science and the Age of the Earth Controversy
One of the most contentious issues debates between Christians concerns the age of the earth. How does a person balance the two forms of revelation from God, that is, God’s knowledge of Himself revealed through the Word and His Creation? This talk will address this contentious subject addressing the foundational assumptions in this very important discussion which sadly often ends up in a very unsatisfying stalemate.
