Ministry Guild

Equipping the Saints

Scripture Anchor

"...to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."

(Ephesians 4:12)

Is this Guild for me?

If you want to move past simply sitting in a pew and start actively building up the body of Christ, the Ministry Guild is designed specifically to help you step into your calling. Fulfilling the Great Commission is not a task left solely to professional clergy, because God has called every single believer to make disciples. This Guild is tailored to equip a variety of ministries:

What kind of work is involved?

Since the Ministry Guild is designed to equip you for active service, our work leans heavily toward the practical application of ministry methods, although we still maintain a high standard of intellectual rigor.

#1

Intellectual Rigor and
Manageable Reading:

You will not spend your time memorizing organizational charts or administrative manuals. Instead, your weekly reading consists of five to ten pages of engaging, high-quality material. These readings focus on the theology of the church, the history of Christian education, and proven relational discipleship models that challenge your mind while remaining directly applicable to your real-world service.

#2

Highly Practical
Leanings:

Because this is the Ministry Guild, your assignments are heavily weighted toward active leadership. You will spend less time writing academic essays and more time executing real-world ministry projects, which might include drafting a customized family discipleship plan, practicing a Socratic mentoring session with a friend, or auditing your local church’s small group structure.

#3

Collaborative Socratic
Mentorship:

Under the guidance of vetted mentors, you will meet weekly in live Zoom cohorts capped at twenty peers. These meetings are entirely conversational, because we want you to troubleshoot real ministry challenges, share practical ideas, and build deep relational partnerships with other leaders.

How does this Guild connect to the rest of the ICA?

The Ministry Guild does not operate in a vacuum, because effective Christian service must be anchored in truth and character:

The Link to the
Bible Guild

You cannot faithfully teach or preach the Word of God unless you know how to handle it with precision, which means the interpretive and exegetical skills you develop in the Bible Guild are the essential foundation for every workshop in this Guild.

The Link to the
Virtue Guild

Ministry failure is rarely an intellectual failure, because leaders almost always stumble due to a lack of character, which is why the moral habituation and classical Thomistic virtues taught in the Virtue Guild are vital to protect and sustain your ministry for the long haul.

Our Hubs & Curriculum Pathways

To ensure your training provides a clear pathway from basic introduction to practical mastery, the Ministry Guild is organized into six specialized Hubs. Each Hub serves as a focused center of study to help you understand a specific area of discipleship, leadership, or education.

Click on any Hub below to expand the description and view our active workshops. Because our curriculum is constantly expanding to meet the needs of our student body, we regularly add new options to our live block schedules:

1. Family Hub

Purpose: The Family Hub exists because the home is the primary battleground for worldview formation, which means parents and grandparents are the first and most important disciplers of the next generation. This Hub integrates into the Ministry Guild by providing families with a clear, biblical framework to impress God's truth on their children in the rhythms of daily life. By studying covenantal family models, you will learn how to transition your home from passive church attendance to an active center of relational discipleship.

Scripture Anchor: "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road..." (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

2. Youth Hub

Purpose: The Youth Hub exists because the transition from childhood to young adulthood is a critical period where many young believers walk away from the faith due to intellectual doubts and cultural conformities. This Hub integrates into our ministry training by equipping leaders to move past mere entertainment and start pouring deep, resilient theology and historical wonders into the next generation. By mastering apologetics-minded youth ministry, you will know how to help young people own their faith before they step out into a skeptical world.

Scripture Anchor: "We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done." (Psalm 78:4)

3. Children Hub

Purpose: The Children Hub exists because a child’s moral and spiritual foundation begins forming at an incredibly young age, so we must never hinder them from coming to the Savior. This Hub integrates into the larger Guild by training educators and parents to present deep biblical truths in a manner that is both understandable and relationally engaging for young minds. By learning how to cultivate spiritual wonder and moral habits in early childhood, you will help build a solid faith that lasts a lifetime.

Scripture Anchor: "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'" (Matthew 19:14)

4. Discipleship Hub

Purpose: The Discipleship Hub exists because the Great Commission is not fulfilled by simply winning converts, but by making mature, reproducing disciples who can train others in turn. This Hub integrates into the Ministry Guild by establishing the biblical model of multiplication, teaching you how to build high-trust, Socratic mentoring relationships that help believers grow from spiritual infancy to leadership. By mastering these relational dynamics, you will be equipped to raise up a self-sustaining army of disciple-makers in your local community.

Scripture Anchor: "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." (2 Timothy 2:2)

5. Preaching Hub

Purpose: The Preaching Hub exists because the public proclamation of God’s Word remains the central means of encouraging believers and correcting error, which requires messengers to speak with great patience and careful instruction. This Hub integrates into our training by equipping pastors, lay elders, and teachers to deliver expository messages that are doctrinally sound, apologetically sharp, and relationally persuasive. By sharpening your communication skills, you will learn how to preach the truth of Scripture in a way that directly engages both the minds and the hearts of modern listeners.

Scripture Anchor: "Preach the word, be prepared in season and out of season, correct, rebuke and encourage, with great patience and careful instruction." (2 Timothy 4:2)

6. Education Hub

Purpose: The Education Hub exists because true learning is not merely about career preparation, but about cultivating wisdom and understanding through the fear of the Lord. This Hub integrates into the larger Guild by exploring the philosophy of classical Christian education, which helps schools and homeschool cooperatives transition from secular learning models to a unified, Christ-centered approach. By studying these educational models, you will know how to train students to see all of reality through the lens of God's truth.

Scripture Anchor: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10)
