Professional Biography
Jim Damron (PhD, MDiv, MBE, RRT-ACCS, CPFT) is a Lecturer in Respiratory Care at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he brings over 25 years of critical care clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist to his teaching in healthcare ethics, clinical practice, and professional development.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Theological Studies from Columbia International University, a Master of Divinity in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Bioethics and Health Policy from Loyola University Chicago — a combination that uniquely positions him to explore the intersection of Christian theology and the hardest questions in modern medicine.
His doctoral dissertation developed a theological framework for discerning when to withhold or withdraw life-sustaining interventions, research shaped by years of service as a Clinical Ethics Consultant and in ministry. Beyond academia, Jim serves as an Elder at Forest Hill Church, and has spoken nationally and internationally on medical ethics.
