Glenn Smith
"Exegetical Bible teaching with a robust interest in not only teaching the entire word of God, but along the way explaining deep concepts and answering questions."
Background & Expertise
Glenn did not grow up in a Christian home but was dramatically changed when he heard the gospel of Jesus. He immediately became interested in verse-by-verse Bible study and defending the faith against attacks from both outside and inside the church.
Glenn’s ministry has always been focused on explaining the entire word of God, not merely the things from a typical Sunday morning Bible class, which he has taught for 25 years. Along the way, he desires to introduce people to the rich history of theology and doctrine that is in Christianity, discerning between essential and non-essential doctrine, and answering challenges to the faith that each generation must face.
By some means Glenn convinced a boss to pay him for many years to do technical training for industry. He did that so that he could meanwhile schmooze his way into doing apologetics and evangelism on university campuses for 16 years with Ratio Christi. For the last several years, he has been co-host and co-founder of Reasoning Through the Bible, a ministry that has a daily online Bible study and provides free resources to help churches and small groups teach the Bible.
Glenn recharges his batteries by entering the forest, interviewing the animals to reveal nature’s secrets, planting fruit trees, then watching them die. He has somehow managed to talk his fantastic wife Jeanie into staying married to him for 46 years. In return for not abandoning his children when they were teenagers, they later rewarded him with four grandchildren who quickly figured out that he jokes around, but only just a bit.
