Got a question? Maybe the answer is here!
The ICA is designed to bridge the "Missing Middle" between basic Sunday school discipleship and formal seminary education. We provide specialized, institute-level apologetics and theological training in an accessible format for everyday believers, Christian educators, and pastors. Our ultimate goal is not just information acquisition, but Virtue Formation through sharpening the mind, training the hands, and forming the heart.
Not at all! The ICA exists precisely for the everyday believer. Whether you are a parent trying to answer your children's doubts, a professional wanting to confidently engage your coworkers, or a Christian educator navigating cultural shifts, our training is built for you. You do not need a Ph.D. to be a faithful ambassador for Christ, but you do need to be equipped.
The ICA operates on a membership-based subscription model of $30.00 per month. This grants you full access to the entire institute. Your membership includes access to the digital library (where all asynchronous reading and video materials are housed) and the community (our social community where you will interact with other members and mentors).
To maintain our flexibility and focus strictly on practical discipleship rather than academic bureaucracy, we operate independently of formal higher-education accrediting bodies. Therefore, our Workshop, Hub, and Guild certificates are non-degree milestones and do not carry transferable college credit. However, completion of our live Workshops grants verifiable Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through partnering education groups.
We believe that true virtue formation cannot happen through passive listening alone. Therefore, every Workshop utilizes our strict four-part transformational learning model: READ, WATCH, DO, MEET. You will complete asynchronous reading assignments and video lectures and execute actionable "DO" assignments in your daily life or local church. Some participants join a scheduled live cohort. When ICA offers an asynchronous option, the workshop includes an approved recording or other MEET alternative. Certificate requirements are stated in the workshop syllabus.
To provide a clear pathway to mastery, our curriculum uses a classical three-tier architecture.
The Guilds (Colleges): Our highest level of organization, representing broad fields of study (e.g., the Worldviews Guild).
The Hubs (Departments): Focused centers for specific subjects housed within a Guild (e.g., the Islam Hub or Cults Hub).
The Workshops (Courses): The individual, active training units housed inside each Hub.
ICA is served by a volunteer mentor network that includes vetted alumni of Southern Evangelical Seminary and Bible College alongside other carefully selected field experts. Because ICA uses digital platforms for live cohort meetings, Cohort Mentors can guide participants from anywhere in the world. Every mentor is reviewed for doctrinal alignment, and each Workshop is evaluated according to ICA standards for theological faithfulness, clarity, educational quality, and practical application.
Not at all! Each workshop is available for a one-time purchase. However, this comes only with this one workshop. Those who purchase a single workshop are eligible to take it live whenever it is offered, but only that workshop. New workshops are added every month, and with the membership, you can have full access to examine a workshop before taking it live.
