Bible Guild

Certainty in the Word

Scripture Anchor

"With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught."

(Luke 1:3-4)

Is this Guild for me?

If you want to move past a superficial reading of Scripture and gain an unshakeable confidence in its historical truth, the Bible Guild is built for you. Fulfilling the Great Commission requires us to make disciples who can handle the Word of God with actual precision, which is why this Guild is tailored to meet several distinct callings:

Bible
Guild

For the Layperson

If you love reading your Bible but sometimes find yourself confused by complex historical contexts, cultural gaps, or difficult passages, these workshops will help you study the text with clarity and confidence.

For Parents

If you want to raise children who love the Scriptures, you must be ready to answer their honest questions about how we got our Bible, why we can trust its translation, and how to make sense of tough biblical narratives.

For Church Leaders & Pastors

If you are responsible for feeding others, this Guild serves as an invaluable resource to train your small group leaders, teachers, and lay leaders, because it ensures that everyone in your ministry is interpreting Scripture with a unified, reliable method.

For Missionaries

If you are engaging cultures that do not respect biblical authority, this Guild provides the robust historical and evidential tools you need to defend the integrity of the Word on the front lines.

For the Curious Learner

If you have always wanted to know how the entire biblical narrative fits together, you will find a structured, welcoming home in our community.

What kind of work is involved?

We believe that deep discipleship requires both a sharpened mind and trained hands, which is why our workshops balance high-level intellectual rigor with practical, real-world application.

#1

Intellectual Rigor
without Overwhelm:

You will not be asked to read hundreds of pages of dry, academic commentary every week. Instead, your weekly reading is strictly focused on five to ten pages of engaging, high-quality material. These readings are designed to introduce you to historical backgrounds, manuscript transmission, and theology without burying you in unnecessary academic jargon.

#2

A Balance of
Head and Hands:

The Bible Guild is not about storing up information because we want you to use what you learn to build relationships and make disciples. Your assignments are split evenly between intellectual comprehension and active, hands-on practice, which might include writing a short devotional, leading a Socratic discussion with a friend, or creating a study outline for your family.

#3

High-Accountability
Mentorship:

Rather than simply listening to passive online lectures, you will participate in live, Socratic discussion cohorts capped at approximately twenty peers. You will be expected to come prepared to ask questions, share insights, and discuss how to apply the text to modern life under the guidance of a vetted ICA mentor.

How does this Guild connect to the rest of the ICA?

The Bible Guild acts as the scriptural spine of our entire curriculum, which means it naturally connects to several of our other specialized pathways:

1. The Link to the
Philosophy Guild

When you study biblical history and manuscript reliability, you will quickly see how classical logic and natural theology help clarify theological terms, just as Paul did when he engaged classical philosophy to preach the Gospel on Mars Hill.

2. The Link to the
Theology Guild

Systematic theology is only as strong as the biblical exegesis that supports it, which is why the interpretive skills you learn in the Bible Guild directly feed into the historical creeds and systematic doctrines studied in the Theology Guild.

3. The Link to the
Virtue Guild

True biblical discipleship must move from the head to the heart, because our study of Scripture is designed to lead directly into character formation, sanctification, and the active habituation of Christian virtue.

Our Hubs & Curriculum Pathways

To ensure your training provides a clear pathway from basic introduction to mastery, the Bible Guild is organized into four foundational Hubs. We have streamlined our department structure to focus on the essential pillars of biblical interpretation and apologetic defense.

Click on any Hub below to expand the description and view our active workshops. Because our curriculum is constantly expanding to meet the needs of our student body, we regularly add new options to our live block schedules:

1. Old Testament Hub

Purpose: The Old Testament Hub exists to anchor your understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures, which comprise over three-quarters of the Christian Bible. Many modern believers struggle to read the Old Testament because they find the ancient laws, complex genealogies, and historical narratives difficult to interpret. This Hub integrates into the Bible Guild by demonstrating how God's progressive revelation unfolds from creation to the covenants, showing that you cannot fully understand the work of Jesus unless you first comprehend the foundational bedrock laid in the Law, the historical books, the wisdom literature, and the prophets.

Scripture Anchor: "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope." (Romans 15:4)

2. New Testament Hub

Purpose: The New Testament Hub exists to explore the historical fulfillment of God's promises through the life of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the early Church. It brings together the study of the Gospels, the historical expansion in Acts, and the pastoral theology found in the apostolic letters. This Hub integrates into the larger Guild by teaching you how to translate historical events into concrete doctrine for the church, the workplace, and the home, equipping you with the interpretive tools needed to stand firm and hold fast to apostolic teaching in a post-Christian world.

Scripture Anchor: "So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter." (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

3. Jesus Hub (Resurrection Apologetics)

Why it exists: The Jesus Hub exists because the physical, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate historical cornerstone of the Christian faith. Apologetics is not a game of intellectual cleverness because if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is completely useless and your faith is entirely in vain. This Hub integrates into the Bible Guild as our primary evidential defense center, equipping you to construct a historical case for the empty tomb, evaluate non-biblical historical testimonies, and confidently dismantle modern skeptical theories.

Scripture Anchor: "And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith." (1 Corinthians 15:14)

Active Workshops
  • BIB.JES.111. Resurrection Evidences: Explore the historical and biblical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus, equipping students to evaluate eyewitness testimony, early Christian and non-Christian sources, archaeology, and biblical reliability in a gracious apologetic defense of the Christian faith.

4. Reliability Hub

Purpose: The Reliability Hub exists to answer the critical questions of how we got our Bible, how the ancient manuscripts were transmitted, and whether we can trust their physical preservation over thousands of years. This integrates into the Bible Guild by establishing the baseline intellectual security that the scriptures we read today are indeed the divinely inspired words originally spoken by God, giving you a firm place to stand when critics attack the integrity, translation, or canonization of Holy Writ.

Scripture Anchor: "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever." (Isaiah 40:8)
